Uncharted 2 Eye of Indra

Sony Computer Entertainment of America has released Uncharted: Eye of Indra, a motion comic that fleshes out the Uncharted universe. The first episode is available now on PlayStation Network. Naughty Dog lead game designer Neil Druckmann wrote the following on the PlayStation Blog:

For all of you wanting more Nathan Drake, you’re in luck — hitting the PSN today is Uncharted: Eye of Indra – a four episode Motion Comic — it’s an original prequel story to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. We’ve been working on this baby for the past year and it’s been brutal not being able to talk about it.

There are a millions of Uncharted and Naughty Dog fans out there, so I’m sure a lot of people will watch Eye of Indra. I’ll be one of those people, but I’m not yet sold on the whole motion comics thing. Perhaps it’s nostalgia, remembering all those great times I spent curled up with comic books, but the format doesn’t work for me (yet). That aside, this is a great way for Naughty Dog and Sony to further expand and market Uncharted.

If you check out Uncharted: Eye of Indra, I’d love to know what you think!

I'll be checking it out later tonight, I'll let you know tomorrow.

Anyone else think Mal looks an awful lot like Mal from Firefly?

SkullOne360 says:

I saw the one that IGN posted up and made a twitter comment of how hard it is to go back to READING comics after watching this. If this is the future of comics, then I'm in. There's a God of War comic and I believe one for Infamous. Sony should roll forward with this if the reception for Uncharted is welcomed.

@SkullOne360 I dunno, part of the reason I enjoy reading comics is that the dialogue is paced the way I read it and the voices sound a certain way in my head. Motion comics take that away.

SkullOne360 says:

Well yes, I feel the same way too, BUT if it's based on an established franchise, like Uncharted, wouldn't you want in?

SkullOne360 says:

Lol. I see companies using motion comics as a midquel between games.

rbee90 says:

does drake always get this beaten up? poor guy..

*spoiler alert*

i was about to cry when elena was effed up at the end of the game, i really thought she was gonna die… :( …chloe's toastin' though…

SlickyFats says:

Dumb Dumb Dumb. The entire motion comic is advertisements. Not worth downloading even though its free.

Smartguy says:

@slicky

if it sounds too good to be true then it is too good to be true huh? haha.

SlickyFats says:

Yeah it was maybe 5 minutes of actually story and the rest was advertising Uncharted 1 & 2 and i think a 4 Runner.
