E3 2011 Electronic Arts Press Conference Live Blog

The word on the street is that Insomniac Games is going to be a big part of EA’s E3 2011 press conference. I hope that’s the case. I love those guys and want them to do well. Hopefully EA Partners has a few other top notch developers to introduce. Naturally I’m psyched for some Dragon Age II DLC and Mass Effect 3. Any EA games you’re particularly excited for? Join me in this live blog and let’s see what EA is cookin’.

    1. Heck yes. I saw the trailers and gameplays on Game Trailer live, and the whole time people were like "Enough sports games, EA, give us Battlefield 3!" Now, I know why. Awesome.

  1. I wouldn't have any idea how it looked or what was going on. Followed the blog but nothing was said. :(

    1. The graphics are seriously on the same level as Uncharted 2. The live demo was kinda lame, but it showed off the scenery well. It was a tank driving through the desert and blowing things apart.

They showed some other trailers that showed multiplayer in subway systems and they were in a city a one point where an entire like 30 story skyscraper got toppled like a Jenga tower.

Seriously, check out the footage when you get home or have a chance.

      1. I have the unfortunate luck to have never heard of the Battlefield series until Game Informer ran their Battlefield 3 cover. Now, I can't believe I never heard of it before. It seems too good to pass up.

      2. Battlefield 2 was excellent. I generally hate MP but I still play BF2 online.

      3. I always thought that the BF series was light years ahead of COD. COD seems more like an arcade shooter to me whereas BF seems more like a wartime simulator.

I played the hell out of Bad Company, but I passed on BF:BC2 only because I couldn't afford it until 3 months after it's release and I didn't want to play the FPS catch up game. After that, I almost bought it on 4 separate occasions (as in I had it in my hand on the way to register) and on 4 separate occasions the guy behind the counter talked me out of it while they were trying to hype it.

The bottom line is, it's a shooter… and I am completely bored of playing the same style of game I've been playing since Goldeneye. It's like the Madden series, with everything that's been added over the years… it's still the same game from the same perspective with the basic controls never changing. I'm sick of it. I'm getting close to being like that with GTA style open world games too. Rockstar may be able to get me to buy maybe 3 more games before I'm finally done (I think).

        Anyway… If I don't get BF3 on day one, I probably won't get it.

      4. Yeah open world games are done for me. I blame that on playing an MMO for 5 years. I played, beat, and enjoyed GTA:4 but that was during a subscription hiatus in WoW. I tried to pick up and play RDR but I just couldn't do it. I didn't care about the extra side stuff. (game is kinda ugly if you ask me).

Who knows, my tastes could change again. I quit WoW months ago and tried to get into Rift but stopped after 2 months.

As far as FPS goes, I'm interested solely in the multiplayer aspect with friends. In the case of BF3 i'm quite interested in the technical aspects of pushing my PC to the limits with 2 gfx cards. I'm pretty sure I won't beat the single player since I'll be on the PC.
