What Are You Playing This Weekend?

I’m almost done with my review run of Dungeon Siege III for Machinima, so I think I’ll start a new game on my personal account. If any of you want to beat up some villains and grab some treasure with me (in the game, not in real life), please let me know.

Aside from that, I expect to pick up a bunch of new games for my iPad 2. EA and Gameloft are having Father’s Day sales. A lot of great stuff will be slashed to high heaven.

How about you? What’s on your weekend playlist?

  1. If you ever change your mind and want to beat up villains and grab treasure in real life… let me know because I'm all for that.

    As for what I'm playing this weekend… I have no clue. I'm thinking we should have and RPad.tv invitational of a sort.

    Borderlands is a good one, as is Tetris.

      If you are playing Borderlands on 360, definitely get with me or Big Blak. One of us will give you the grandaddy of all shields as well as a shotgun that will decimate anything in one shot.

      1. Let me get this first coop playthrough finished with my 2 fellow borderlands virgins.

      1. If you find insurance that covers vigilante activity (bat-insurance if you will)… let me know who the provider is.

        I'm all about getting on the bat plan (na na na na na na na na na…. BAT PLAN).

  2. Alice: Madness Returns. It's not great (I'm being generous). But I'm reviewing it. Might also rent inFamous 2 to break up the monotony.

  3. Had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a new water filter for our fridge. I happened to pass by the old $19.99 bargain bin and found a copy of Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom for the 360. I never got a chance to check it out when it came out, so I picked it up. Hopefully it'll provide a nice distraction from Alice whenever I need one.

    That is a very fun game. Some textures look old but the story and characters are good.

    1. The developer (Game Republic) have apparently very recently closed their doors and the owner has mysteriously disappeared. The rumor is he has lots of debts, some of which may be to some of the more unsavory types in Japan.

      I just saw this this morning, and then when I saw the game on the cheap I thought it was too ironic not to pick it up.

    I'd be up for tetris (splash on xbla?)

    @iceman

    Does your offer for playing through splinter cell conviction co-op on realistic still stand? If so i might take that up soon.

    1. @Bsukenyan;

      Yes, it does. Ha, I guess I'm a little too late with the replay since I saw this request after we did this already.

      @N8;

      If you want to do the co-op story on realistic, let me know. I can help you get through it. Besides, I owe you after helping me out so much in Dead Rising 2.

    Yeah I should've just beaten that game on realistic the first time through. I just got annoyed with learning the controls at first and wanted to unfold the story quicker. Still have to do co-op on realistic so if you need to do that too I'm up for it sometime this weekend most likely.

  7. I have Duke Nukem and the new Alice game at the house. Luckily both are rentals and I should be tearing my brains out by this evening.

      1. Good to know. Rumor has it that this game will be my belated Father's Day gift when it comes out on Tuesday

      2. I'm finding that DS3 has really horrible controls on the PC. The game was a console game and then a dumb port over to PC…with nicer gfx though. I'm a little less upbeat about this game now. Maybe I'll get it on a console.

  8. So, I took my kids to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor today to ride some waterslides…

    … And I end up meeting former Steeler LB Joey Porter.

    This is awesome.

    1. Also former Dolphins linebacker. Man, that's awesome. You should have asked for his autograph on a picture of Tom Brady… assuming that you carry around an 8×10 photograph of Tom Brady everywhere you go… like Big Blak does.

      -M

      1. This guy had me by at least 60 lbs and as I recall… one of the most brazen LB's in recent years. There was no way I was going to bug him more than I did on the day before Father's Day while he's spending quality time with his kids. That's suicide as well as against my ethics.

        He was really nice and all… but I wasn't about to push it. I was also in my swim trunks (full disclosure… I was wearing a pair of red Speedos… and I'm not kidding).

        I left it at "former Steeler" for a few reasons:

        1) His best years so far were with us.

        2) The city of Pittsburgh still has mad love for him. When he hits the HoF, he will probably be inducted as a Steeler.

        3) I'm sure he wants to forget about his years in Miami as well.

        4) He plays for the Cardinals now. I actually respect Cardinals, but love the Steelers.

      2. NFL players don't go in with a team like MLB. I didn't realize that until Rickey Jackson got in year before last.

        I'm not sure about the NBA and I don't even know if the NHL has some sort of hall of fame.

      3. I didn't mean it like that. I meant (more or less) that he will get inducted for what he did for the Steelers. His career highlights will be in Black & Gold and he will more than likely be nominated by the Selector that represents Pittsburgh.

        It's easier to say in one sentence "He will be inducted as a Steeler".

        Using your example, Jackson played his final year for the Forty-Whiners… but that was a New Orleans party. Thus he was inducted as a Saint as opposed to the guy who left for San Francisco.

        In the case of the NFL, it's a figure of speech.

      4. He and Karlos Dansby basically swapped teams last year. At their respctive points in their careers I'd say the Fins got the better end of that deal.

      5. Even fuller disclosure:

        When I say "red Speedos"… they are full size trunks that go to my knees and are a bit baggy. They just happened to be red, and made by the Speedo brand.

      6. no way in hell joey porter gets in the hall of fame dude…had he stayed in pittsburgh, maybe

        just sayin
