This Week’s Video Game Releases

It’s a huge week for the gaming business with the release of the Wii U and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. In addition to Activision’s monster release and all the Wii U launch titles, a number of notable games hit store shelves this week. Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two continues Warren Spector’s awesome take on the world’s most famous mouse. LEGO Lord of the Rings brings a tried-and-true gameplay formula to Middle-earth. Scribblenauts Unlimited takes one of the most inventive games released in the last decade to a new level. Lastly, if you’re looking for classic arcade action then Midway Arcade Origins will do you good.

Any of you picking up new games this week?

  1. Is Scribblenauts unlimited similar to the Justice League unlimited?? I will be picking up black ops. Still undecided on whether i’ll go to Best Buy at midnight since it’s cold out

    1. I’ve heard absolutely nothing but good things about Halo 4. From what I’ve read 343 industries did an amazing job with the storyline in this game. What disappointed you about the game?

      1. So far the entire game. It feels the same as all of the others. The story interested me at first but then when I couldn’t progress any more I had to start the game over so I quit playing. There is a part where you have to ride this giant “car” called the Mammoth. Well the terrain just stopped rendering and it started driving in air. Each time I reload that part there is nothing there. Then I am left standing in mid air when the Mammoth just disappears and I fall to my death. It starts over and happens all over again. So I quit playing there because I was just going to start over but I would hate to do that and get there and it still not work.

      2. That sucks. I have played this level of which you speak of and I have (fortunately) had no problems with it. If your game is broken, return it to the place where you bought it from and let them know that your copy is defective. It has been known to happen from time to time.

        -M

      3. I don’t blame you with that then, and the glitches are actually what have worried me about 343 industries making this game (since Halo: Anniversary was pretty buggy). That’s too bad that it kept failing like that, but maybe it was just a bad copy of the game? It couldn’t hurt to get it replaced and see, but it seems like you’ve had bad luck with plenty of games in the past. Anything good that you’ve played lately?

  2. If anyone hasn’t bought Black Ops 2 yet DailySteals has it for $44.99 today.

I just quit playing it. I tried the MP and SP and Zombie and didn’t care for any of it. I used to like the CoD franchise back with 1&2, but now I only care to play the those missions that have objectives and are timed (I don’t remember what they are called since I haven’t played them in forever. SpecOps maybe?)

    1. That sucks. I’m actually enjoying the MP much more than any other since cod:4. I haven’t played the campaign but I’ll get to it soon enough.

      1. That’s what I always say too, and then I only end up playing the campaign right before I go to get rid of the game. haha.
